A mere glance at the checkout rack while waiting in line to buy groceries will show snapshots of society's view of women. Sadly, this also often comes with willing adherence by women. Add to these societal pressures of marriage or dating or kids or work and it becomes hard to discern among all the messages and busyness, what a woman is to be.
Titus 2:3-5 gives one biblical vantage which is far different than that of the world: "Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored."
You're not going to find that on the supermarket rack and it may not be the stuff of award shows. But through our women's ministry we aim to bring honor to God, and in doing so, see love and purity and joy spill over into all aspects of life.
