Cape Bible Chapel exists to be a gospel-centered community of worshippers on mission to make and multiply disciples of Christ in our neighborhoods, among the nations, and of the next generation.
What we believe
Come out to a service and you will see 'what we believe' put into practice. For instance, we are a church that leans not on its own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) but instead takes every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). In other words, we seek to obey God and can see no better way to do that than to study and learn from His infallible Word, the Bible, and then apply those lessons to our daily lives, through love and service to others. We use the Scriptures in praise and worship and preach verse-by-verse through them during our teaching time.
From studying God's revelation to us (Revelation 22:18-19), certain aspects of His nature and design for salvation are clear.
We hold fast to the scriptural presentation of One God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Romans 1:7; Hebrews 1:8; Acts 5:3-4).
God sent His only Son to this world (John 3:16). It was on this very earth where Jesus Christ became fully man while remaining fully God, and died on a cross to pay the debt of sin.
Except for the perfect life of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:15), all have sinned and fallen short of God's standards (Romans 3:23).
That sin has doomed all people to eternal torment in Hell. However, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the punishment for sin has been paid. Those who believe that and put their faith in the person of Jesus Christ are granted a complete and eternal salvation and will spend eternity in Heaven (Romans 1:16; Ephesians 2:8; Hebrews 5:9).
We follow Scripture regarding church leadership, the church itself, and future events. You can read about more of our beliefs HERE or visit us some Sunday and see for yourself. We are open to sharing our doctrinal positions any time. We want to be transparent in our presentation, methods, and beliefs. We would be honored if you would join us in the worship of the one true God.

Ben Beswick - Associate Pastor
Ben joined The Chapel staff as Associate Pastor in March of 2017. Prior to that, he served as the Associate Pastor of Student Ministries at Austin Bluffs Evangelical Free Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Ben was born and raised in Texas and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and his M. Div. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jaime, have two children, Amelia and Sawyer. Ben enjoys following college football, reading, and spending time with his wife.
Andy Callis - Student Ministries Pastor
Around Cape Bible Chapel “Where’s Andy?” used to be a common question. It wasn’t that Andy was off with his wife, Sara, or looking after his little ones, Parker, Emmalyn, or Adeline. More likely he was on the campus of a local high school or constructing a mud pit for the weekend’s youth Mudfest or picking up students for afternoon Bible studies. Now the question has shifted to “What’s Andy up to?” as his passion for Student Ministries and seeing youth work out their faith is paramount. Andy hails from Jackson, and these local roots have served him well in working with students since his 2009 hire. A Southeast graduate in Exercise Science, Andy enjoys personal fitness, serves as a part-time trainer, and often sees the link between the work involved in physical fitness and getting in shape spiritually. As Andy’s young family grows here in Cape, he also hopes to see God’s family grow as evangelism and living a spiritually disciplined life are continually in focus whether he is taking the youth to Michigan for a summer camp or locking them into the church for a night of crazy games and worship. When Andy is not hanging with The Chapel youth or his family, he is probably working out or, yeah, hanging out with The Chapel Youth.
Jeff Grindstaff - Worship Pastor
Jeff is one of the most familiar faces at Cape Bible Chapel leading weekly worship services with our praise team. Jeff was born and raised in Southeast Missouri. He grew up in Fredericktown, MO living with his mom and stepdad and spent many weekends on the farm with his dad in Patton. Attending weekly worship services, Jeff fell in love with singing and music. He was involved in ministry as a vocalist/musician and later a singer/songwriter for Image of Unity (I.O.U.), an independent Christian rock/pop band. Jeff earned a degree in Fitness and Sports Medicine from SEMO, while playing rec sports and training athletes. He met his beautiful bride, Dana, in college and they were married in August, 2002. They live in Jackson with their son, Mason, and daughter, Summer. Before joining The Chapel as Worship Pastor in 2014, Jeff worked as an Exercise Therapist and a Rehab Technician. He still enjoys fitness, and when he’s not preparing chord sheets and rehearsing the band, he also enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and, of course, music.
Jeremy Kallin - Children's & Family Pastor
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but Egypt was. Just ask Cape Bible Chapel’s Childrens and Family Pastor, who has had The Chapel complete with pyramids, make-shift sculptures, and even livestock, in preparation for a VBS that followed an Egyptian theme. It is that sort of creativity and effort that Jeremy Kallin brings to God’s family ministry here. Jeremy, who spent his youth in Brazil as the son of missionaries, often brings a missional passion to his role with young families and children. Jeremy’s degree from Temple Baptist Seminary and his current Children and Family studies at Bethel Seminary have equipped him well, but not nearly as well as a burdened heart from God to aid children in witnessing the faithfulness of the Lord. Jeremy enjoys finding ways for families to grow at all levels, and uses Scripture as the basis for all his programs from summer camp to Sunday morning Kid’s Worship. Jeremy is married to Sher and they have three children, Gracie, Mirtnesh, and Cooper. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys soccer and golf, which he keeps entirely separate.
Elders
Paul makes it clear in his writings to Timothy (1 Timothy 3:1-7) and to Titus (Titus 1:5-9) that each local church body is to be governed by a plurality of elders. We follow that model at Cape Bible Chapel. The elders function under the authority of the Word of God and guide and oversee the spiritual welfare of the church. We find in these same writings that deacons also are recognized and appointed from within the church body to administrate tasks and serve the body.
Let us introduce you to the elders and deacons God has placed within the body of believers at Cape Bible Chapel.
