women's minstry

A mere glance at the checkout rack while waiting in line to buy groceries will show snapshots of society's view of women. Sadly, this also often comes with willing adherence by women. Add to these societal pressures of marriage or dating or kids or work and it becomes hard to discern among all the messages and busyness, what a woman is to be.

Titus 2:3-5
gives one biblical vantage which is far different than that of the world: "Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored."

You're not going to find that on the supermarket rack and it may not be the stuff of award shows. But through our women's ministry we aim to bring honor to God, and in doing so, see love and purity and joy spill over into all aspects of life.

Ladies' bible studies

On Sundays, women are invited to a Ladies Sunday School Class.  This class provides Bible study and fellowship on Sunday mornings at 9:00am.

During the week, women are invited to a group Bible study on Tuesday mornings (September through May).  They seek to provide relevant teaching for women in diverse stages of life.  To learn more about our attempt to filter our lives through God's Word contact Sue Owen.

Secret Sisters

The Secret Sisters Program is a great opportunity to bless a fellow sister in Christ by praying regularly for them and sending notes of encouragement and celebration throughout the year.  Meanwhile, another woman will be sending you notes and praying for you.  The blessings go both ways!  Secret Sisters happens annually with signs ups after the start of the new year.

Women's retreat

Annually we seek to provide women the chance to come together and rejuvenate their spiritual lives. Vibrant teaching, joyful fellowship, and emotional renewal are paramount during this refreshing fall weekend.

LADIES' NIGHT OUT

Life is hectic. It can be stressful how often we use the word 'stress'. The women's ministry seeks to provide a few nights a semester to get away and fellowship with other women, whether it is through sharing decadent desserts or having a cowgirl night. Check the calendar for the next Ladies Night Out.

MOPS - Mothers of preschoolers

MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers meets the second Friday of every month (September-May) from 9:30 - 11:30 am. Being a mom isn't easy.  But sometimes it helps to learn from others who have gone through or are going through the same challenges in raising children.  For those mothers with children from birth to kindergarten, MOPS is a respite away from, but dedicated to, mothering.  The time features practical lessons, along with relationship-building all geared toward raising up little ones "in the way they should go."

Adjacent to MOPS is MOPPETS, a program which teaches and cares for the children of the moms in the MOPS program.

For years MOPS has been strengthening and refreshing women, always seeking to renew the joy of being a mom . . . even when it isn't easy!

Learn more about MOPS on their website or contact Charlene McWilliams for information about our local group.
