Welcome to The Chapel

If you are looking for a community where you will feel valued both by God and by others, The Chapel may be the place for you. We invite you to come and see. We are a church of people centered on faith in Jesus Christ. Through our teaching, bible studies, and student and kids' programs, we offer a chance to answer questions about God, find faith and truth, and discover real purpose for your life.

This page lists some answers to common questions from guests at The Chapel. We hope you find it helpful and if you have any questions at all please feel free to contact us.

"I have been to many churches in my life and after one or two visits I was pressured to know all about Christ and to either become a Christian or leave. However, CBC was so welcoming and loving. I never once felt pressured. I came to Christ when I was ready instead of someone throwing the Bible at me and saying mean, hurtful things. One thing is for certain, you are loved here no matter what ♡"

    WHEN DO WE MEET?

We meet for worship on Sunday Mornings at 10:30am. This service generally lasts around 75 minutes and includes worship music and a message taught verse by verse from the Bible.

Sunday School meets during the 9:00 hour and we offer a variety of small groups throughout the week, both at The Chapel and in local homes.

Children and Youth programs are offered during on Sunday mornings and Wednesday small group times, and there are also a variety of other events for all ages during the week.

Check out our EVENTS page to see our regular events, upcoming special events, or launch the CALENDAR to get specific locations and descriptions.

    WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Most people here dress casually. God meets people where they are and then draws them into relationship and continual life change. People get caught up in the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. As a church, we want to be as Christ-like as possible. In other words, come in a suit-and-tie (you won't be alone), come in a dress (others do), come in jeans (who doesn't ?), come in heels or open-toed shoes or tennis shoes. Just come.

    WHERE DO I PARK?

We know that even things like parking can be a big hassle, and so we hope to make it as easy as possible. You can enter our parking areas through an entrance on Kage Road or Mount Auburn Road (see directions at the bottom of this page for more detail). We actually have three parking lots and it doesn't matter which one you choose to use. We have several spots near the building reserved for our visitors - just look for the 'Visitor Parking' signs.

IS THERE A PLACE FOR EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY?

Jesus often uses references to family in his explanations even referring to God as "Father." Part of being a church is to understand and minister to families. It is for that reason that we have special places for the youngest child and the oldest grandparent among us. We welcome your family into our family here at The Chapel. Please visit our ministries page to learn more and let us know if you have any questions. Once you get here we will help you find everything and take care of you like a member of the family.

    WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
This is answered in further detail on the page covering childrens ministries, but we have a place for kids of all ages. Our well-staffed nursery is available for children from birth to 3 during our Sunday morning meeting times. The nursery has a check-in system, a silent page system for parents, and is a clean, safe, and fun atmosphere for your little ones. During Sunday School time, children have classes for ages 4 & up. During the 10:30 am Worship Service, children age 4 - 2nd Grade attend Kid's Worship. The bottom line is we want you and your family, from the oldest to the youngest, to be cared for during your time with us. If you have questions feel free to call or we offer a team of greeters who would love to help you out when your family arrives.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET THERE?

Once inside someone will greet you with a smile and answer any questions you have. If you have children and would like them to participate in our children's programs, a greeter will escort you to the children's classrooms or nursery area. After these preliminaries, you are free to attend one of our many Sunday School Classes that begin at 9am or join us as we worship the Lord together at 10:30.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH ME?

Only if you want to. We do teach from the Bible, so if you have one, we encourage you to bring it. If you forget it or don't have one, we have Bibles available in our pews and we'd love for you to take a Bible home with you.

HOW DOES THE CHAPEL ACCOMMODATE THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?

We have individual earphones for the hearing impaired at the Welcome Center. We also have wheelchairs available. Should you or someone you are bringing need a wheelchair, just pull up to one of the main entrances and we will bring one to your vehicle. The whole building is wheelchair accessible. If you or a family member have other needs, please let us know how we can serve you.

WHAT DOES SUNDAY MORNING COMMUNITY WORSHIP LOOK LIKE?
Our goal is to glorify God, and every week features music and Bible teaching. This time of teaching is expository and we walk our way through a book of the Bible, verse-by-verse, before moving on to a new book. Once a month, the Lord's Supper is included in worship. This time of communion is open to all believers in Christ. Worship begins Sundays at 10:30 am.

ARE YOU GOING TO ASK FOR MY MONEY?

We do not expect our guests to give. Once or twice a year, we will take a special offering during the service. Our members are guided through the biblical expectation of giving when joining Cape Bible Chapel and we have boxes in the lobby as well as online giving accessible to them.

IS IT EASY TO 'GET CONNECTED'?

We have cards you can fill out - aptly called 'Connect Cards' - that are designed to help connect you to Cape Bible Chapel. These cards are available in the lobby and also online HERE. Our desire is that people will attend, feel welcomed, and consider if this is where God wants them to worship and serve. We encourage you to get plugged into one of our small groups as soon as possible as a way of forming close bonds with others.
